Celui qui défile joyeusement au pas cadencé a déjà gagné mon mépris. C’est par erreur qu’on lui a donne un grand cerveau puisque la moelle épinière lui suffirait amplement.

On devrait éliminer sans délai cette honte de la civilisation. L’héroïsme sur commande, la brutalité stupide, cette lamentable attitude de patriotisme, quelle haine j’ai pour tout cela. Combien méprisable et vile est la guerre. Je préférerai être déchiré en lambeaux plutôt que de participer à quelque chose d’aussi méprisable.

Je suis convaincu que tuer sous prétexte de guerre n’est rien d’autre qu’un assassinat pur et simple.

Hi everybody,

Just a little post about a personal project for Second Life: SL Ick Viewer.

SL Ickr Viewer will be a photos viewer for Second Life.

The program will be split in two parts:

• a Second Life script made with LSL (stored in the Second Life server).
• a web based programming done in ASP.NET & C#: It’s a good oppurtinity to refresh my memory about those technologies that I haven’t practiced for years…

I will give you any update about this project.

After this project will follow SLFacebook but it’s another story

Before using Facebook, you had the feeling that Firefox was great and the best browser in the world.
But since you use the built-in chat of Facebook, Firefox is very very veryyyyyyyy slow and freezes for a couple of seconds.

I’ve found a workaround that works, for me, on firefox 3.5.7:

1) Open firefox and type in the adress bar “about:config” without the quotes.
2) Click the button: “I’ll be careful, I promise!”.
3) In the list, select “browser.helperApps.alwaysAsk.force”.
4) The value should be “false”.
5) Change the value by a double click on the “browser.helperApps.alwaysAsk.force”.
6) Now, the value should be “true”.
7) Restart Firefox and have one’s fingers crossed.

Avant d’utiliser Firefox, vous aviez l’impression que Firefox était génial et qu’il était le meilleur navigateur du monde.
Mais depuis que vous utilisé le chat intégré à Facebook, Firefox est très très trèsssssss lent et gèle pendant quelques secondes.

J‘ai trouvé une manière de contourner ce bug qui fonctionne, pour moi, sur Firefox 3.5.7:

1) Ouvrez Firefox et tapez dans la barre d’adresse “about:config” sans les guillemets.
2) Cliquez sur le bouton: “Je ferai attention, promis !”.
3) Dans la liste, sélectionnez “browser.helperApps.alwaysAsk.force”.
4) La valeur devrait être “false”.
5) Changez la valeur par un double clique sur “browser.helperApps.alwaysAsk.force”.
6) Maintenant, la valeur devrait être “true”.
7) Redémarrez Firefox et croisez les doigts

Si cette solution a réglé votre problème, laissez-moi un message.

Hi all,

I had previously a problem with some laptops with intel wireless cards, intel pro 2200BG, and a Linksys WRT120N router.

When I used the Intel Proset/Wireless utility to connect to the WRT120N, I had this message: “Unable to connect to linksys”.

When I used the Microsoft wireless client to connect to the WRT120N, I had this message: “Please wait while Windows connects to the ‘linksys’ network. Waiting for the network…”. And nothing happensss…

• The WRT120N has the latest firmware update: v1.0.03
• The Intel wireless card driver, intel pro 2200BG, is 9.0.4.39
• The Intel Proset/Wireless utility version is 9.0.0.1
• Wireless security modes tested: DISABLED / WEP / WPA PERSONAL, WPA2 PERSONAL
• Operating System: Windows XP SP3.

Other computers (with another wireless card) are able to connect to this router. I suspected a compability problem from WRT120N to work with the Intel Pro 2200BG.

After a while, Linksys has released a new firmware update: 1.0.04 (Oct 15, 2009).
According to the release notes, it solves the issue with the Intel Pro 2200BG:

Firmware 1.0.04 (Build 02)
- Resolve connectivity issue with Intel Centrino 2200BG
- Resolve issue with Home Network Defender trial period gets activated as soon as the router is connected to the Internet

After a discussion with a friend, I think a lot of people don’t make the difference between the speed of a bus controller and the speed of a device.

According to my friend, it will be amazing when the new USB HDDs will come certified with the USB 3 label:”Their speed will reach 4,8 Gbit/s (=614,4 MB/s) !!”.

After his crazy moment of excitation, I took a moment to explain him that even the best SSD Flash disk can “only” reach 150 MB/s. But it’s much better than the USB 2 that comes with a speed of 480 mbits/s (=60MB/s).

So, if we want to use this amazing speed, manufacturers have to improve their effective speed to reach the theorical speed of the USB 3. I’m sure, in a close future, we will have those kind of devices.

Another thing to keep in mind: it’s a shared speed. That means that you share this theorical speed for all your devices connected to your USB 3 ports. And it’s not 4.8 Gbits/s for each port

After a quick check of the XP mode (XPM) in Windows Seven, i’ve discovered that this technology is hardware & software based. If you plane to upgrade to Seven for using XPM, check if your processor is ready for that !

First, you must have Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate to run Windows XP Mode.

* For AMD processors, it’s easy: all recent processors except the Sempron are able to use XPM
=> All processors with the AMD-V technology.

* For Intel processors, it depends of which processor you have. Check this webpage to see if your processor will be able to run XPM: http://ark.intel.com/VTList.aspx
=> All processors with the INTEL-VT technology.

It’s since the middle of 2006 that All AMD processors have the AMD-V Technology Why does it take so much time for Intel to include this technology in all their processors ?

According to the Intel processors list, my CPU isn’t supported (Intel Core2 Duo processor T5800) : what a shame !
